Hot or not? - Wallpaper in the Laundry

Welcome to 'Hot or not?', your weekly/fortnightly/maybe monthly (?!) opportunity to tell me what you think of a particular design idea or trend.

This time, we're talking wallpaper in the Laundry.

You may be asking why?  Well, our Laundry is not massive, worse luck, and I want it to look kind of fancy.  Our tiling, a simple gloss white, will run up the wall to splashback height.  On top of that, we may or may not add some wall cabinets at a later date, but in the meantime, I'm thinking a pretty floral or geometric wallpaper would add some interest.

Here are some images to get you thinking...

  1. I think it's a great idea. I especially like the first wallpaper in your selection. I played with the idea of a bold black and white stripe wallpaper on the short wall of our laundry. To be perfectly honest, it was only sheer laziness that ruled it out for me!

  2. Totally HOT! :)

Not sure how practical it would be though...

  3. I completely adore the idea of wallpaper in the laundry - if you have to spend time in there it might as well look good. Although personally I'd probably paint stripes or stencil just to save some cash!

  4. Yes! Looks great but it depends on how much you use your dryer / or is it a condenser version or ducted? If the latter; go for it!

  5. Thanks for the comments, ladies. Bugger, I didn't think of the condensation issue. I thought about water, but the wallpaper would be too high to get wet, but not about the dryer. And, yep, I use it all the time. Perhaps Anna's suggestion is the way to go... Then I could get an awesome trellis pattern going on...

    Hmmm, thinking, thinking.... Thanks guys!

  6. I love it, however the condensation issue would be of concern to me too. Our laundry/bathroom fogs up terrible when I use the dryer.
