Getting there...

Slowly, but surely, life is getting back to normal around here.  I think I am pretty much fully recovered now, but have a dose of the 'doing too much, too soons', so am a little bit sore.  Thank you so much for all the well wishes!  Your comments were great pick-me-ups when I really needed them.

Of course, just about every room in the house is nearly done, so there are no awesome reveals to show, but here is a sneak peak of a few bits and pieces for you.

No photos in the bottom row yet.  Also need something for the top of the buffet.
I love this spot, though - we'll get there!
Little Girl's Book Corner.  She also uses this spot for rocking out to her favourite song - 'Usher! Usher!'

Have a lovely week, everyone!

We've achieved so much...

...but there is still a loooooong way to go!

We can't really do any serious room reveals yet, so I thought I'd just share some random photos.

'The help' vacuuming after carpet installation.

Oops, sometimes stormwater pipes run the opposite way to that which you'd expect!

I love myself some nail head trim
And, it's getting chilly around here!  Glad to have fluffy socks and floors that aren't cold concrete!!

So, the floors are nearly completed.  Hopefully this week I'll get at least the bathrooms looking pretty for some reveals.  Mind you, we've lost the use of one toilet - not happy about that!  And, I'm going to work on styling the Master Bedroom.

Wish me luck, and I should have some more photos shortly.  Have a great week!

Reconnected

Well, we're back in the land of the blogging!  Our internet was connected very quickly, which certainly makes a lot of things easier (namely, work!).

We have moved in to the house, albeit with just concrete under our tootsies!  The carpet has been scheduled for installation on Wednesday, and the flooring should arrive on Friday.  Having said that, Carpet Call has not returned any of our calls nor e-mails since last Tuesday, so it remains to be seen whether or not laying/delivery will, indeed, occur.  Suffice to say, we won't be call, call, calling the 'experts in the trade' ever again.  Neither will any of our friends.

Anyhoo, all that rubbish aside, we have enjoyed the first few days in the house.  I love the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry particularly.  Ha, you can tell where I spend most of my time!!!  The Great Room is also feeling more spacious WITH the furniture in, which I love.

It has been crazy busy around here, with lots of projects on the go.  Here are a couple of teasers...

Big Girl's Room

Little Girl's Room.  We started off strong, but haven't made any progress in the last five days!!!!
Without a floor, we have been unable to unpack to much, let alone style ANYTHING at all, so these photos will have to do you for a while.

Hopefully, I'll be able to share some pics later in the week.  Have a great one!!

Little Girl's Chair Reveal

So, it's taken a while for this little project to reach completion, but finally we've done it!

BEFORE:

DURING:

AFTER:

I'll be able to show you some styled pics within the next couple of weeks, because, today, we got the keys to our house!  Woo hoo!  It's all ours!

Now, to sort out some supply issues with our flooring...  More on that later.

PS: Thankfully, Husband ALWAYS ends up taking over my DIY projects.  Love that man!!!

The one where she sews

I was tired of looking at so many lovely cushions for sale in Australia and then being mortified by the horrific price tags.  Sew So, what did I do, I decided to make my own!

Now, they are not fabulously hand-crafted masterpieces, and I haven't added buttons to the bottoms to hold them together yet, but they are made with love and the fabrics are perfect.  Even better, my girls ADORE them!

I can't wait to place them in their bedrooms on top of the gorgeous white quilt covers I'm planning to buy.  Now, for your viewing pleasure...

For Little Girl's Room

For Tween Girl's Room

The cushion at the back in this pic is the reverse side of the one above.
Here's a free tip for you - I didn't have enough fabric to make the pink cushion at the back in the two lower photos, so I used fabric that I had leftover and made a double-side cushion.  That way, if the Tween Girl gets bored with one, she can just flip it!!

Oh, and a disclaimer, the brown, blue, red and pink cushion was purchased, not handmade.  Just in case you weren't sure!!!!

For now, Tween Girl has taken over the sewing machine, so I'm on a break until my next creative urge hits.

Have a great week, everyone.

A little girl's room

After a storm last night, I was very happy to see the concreters preparing to box up for the slab this morning.  I will go back this afternoon for a progress pic (you know, after school pick up and extra-curricular activities are over and done with!).  Then, tomorrow we will have a slab.  I am really getting excited!

It was whilst sitting here, planning a blog post that I didn't have any content for, that I realised I hadn't shared the concept board for our little girl's room yet.  I showed you her wallpaper here, but not the full vision.  So, here it is...

This little one is three years old, and I think she'll have a ball exploring all the little intricacies of the wallpaper.  I fell in love with the fabric pictured next to the photo frames, and am thinking of making a bedrunner out of it.  What do you think?

I've also been channelling my old favourite Sarah Richardson this morning, but am not going to tell Husband lest he has me committed for the plans I'm making!!!

Have a great week everyone - I hope it's all sunshine and joy for all of you!

A gorgeous little girl's room

Yesterday, I came across this gorgeous wallpaper.

Laura Ashley - Summer Palace Duck Egg

Our little girl (3) fell in love with it, and it is now the 'jumping off point' for her new bedroom.  Here are a couple of photos with the wallpaper up against our wallpaper and a couple of accessories that she already has.

I'm feeling a bit excited, and scared, but I think it will look amazing!

In house news, the builder has erected the lovely green silt-catching material around the block.  Hopefully we can have a dry weekend and the plumbing and drainage can commence on Monday.  Positive, positive, positive!

Have a great weekend!
