Rockin' the render

Thursday saw the renderers rockin' their work!  I drove past at 8:39am and they were literally nearly finished the job!  Granted, they were only required to do the front facade, but seriously, that's commitment.

No internal shots, as the chippie was still working when we did our afternoon drive-by.  Hopefully we'll be able to take share photos of KITCHEN CABINETRY!!!!!! in the next post!

Welcome to our newest followers, Lizzie and Nellie.  Welcome, ladies!

Stay dry, peeps!

PS: Pillars are looking better already.  Thanks for all your words of encouragement on the last post.

  1. Oooooh looks very schmick! love it. My husband said to me originally (somewhat jokingly)if I really wanted the $2.5K white mortar I could get out there with the nail polish afterwards and paint it all.....hmmm lucky for him he didn't get a slap! Looking at the pic I am wondering whether the white mortar would have stood out too much and detracted from the beautiful feature bricks. It's all going to really pop once the garden goes in too! Looking great M, and still flying along.

    1. Thanks, Mel! I'm hearing you on the nail polish. Husband asked last night 'what would they do anyway?' to which I suggested we could just paint the mortar later. He wasn't amused!!!!

  4. Looking good - and all that needless worry about the pillars ...

It is amazing what your building team has been able acomplish with all this rain about - I think it is about time for some sunny weather!

Can't wait to see the kitchen ...

    1. Thanks, Lizzie! They have been doing so well in this horrid weather. I figure, just like me, that they don't want to be sitting at home doing nothing and would rather be working, so they just get out and get it done. No kitchen today, hopefully Monday. Have a great weekend - don't forget to vote tomorrow!!! M xx

  5. I echo the others' sentiments - I think you need not lament over the natural mortar. I too worried that we didn't go with it, but I have to stand by my original thoughts that it would look a little too checkerboard-like and wouldn't allow the house to sit in its surroundings. Let the landscaping sing!

I continue to be in awe at the amazing speed of your build, M. Fantastic that you get such nice surprises at every visit! Bring on your cabinetry, can't wait!

    1. Thanks, Nat. I am starting to wonder if the white mortar would have looked a bit odd now, too. What's done is done, so I'm choosing to embrace it!! I'm looking forward to seeing the cabinetry, too, but I think I'll be waiting til Monday now. Oh well, I'll live!! Has your rumpus room door shown up yet? M x

Im currently working as a new home guide for Clarendon & the sales guy in my office is a retired architect. He is really good to lsten to when advising clients because he really knows his stuff. At our other office we have a young girl with a realestate licence, learning as she goes, so her advice isn't quite as helpful!!!
