Happy Monday, all!
Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the roof for you. I went past the house super fast on Friday afternoon to have a squiz, but no time for pics. And then I didn't get back there on the weekend. Not that the photos would have been any good, given the darkness from all this blasted rain!!!!
Anyhoo, I was very excited to go by this morning and see that all the windows are in (they could only have been delivered this morning!) and that Reece On Site was on site. This could only mean baths at this stage of the build.
So, rain, hail or shine (most likely rain), I will be over there taking photos this afternoon.
Have a great day, and stay safe in this horrid weather.

And when they were only half way up...
...the rain came pouring down!
It's been raining all night and day, so work on the house has halted for the time being. The forecast is for rain for another few days, so I guess we're in a holding pattern for now.
You never know, the sun might peep out for a little while tomorrow and the boys will be able to spring into action!
Fascia and gutters are due Tuesday, so I guess as long as the framers are done by then, we'll remain on schedule.

Lighting purchases
Howdy!
I received a call from our Site Supervisor this morning, letting me know that he is working to reschedule all of the activities that were missed because of our recent rain. Thankfully, nothing was meant to happen for us until yesterday, but due to a backlog (totally understandable) our slab will be delayed by about four days. Four days, schmore days. Not a problem at all!
I think he likes me, because I understand what goes into a build, and am not flipping out every five seconds due to delays which are outside of everyone's control.
During the last week, we've had a few deliveries. Behold...
Above is a fluro for the kitchen. My aim is that it will look and behave a bit like a skylight (except that it will cost money to run, of course!), as the kitchen doesn't have a direct natural light source. It's 600mm wide and named 'Sky', so I think we're on a winner!
Excel four-in-one for the bathrooms. I like that they are streamlined, unlike the more traditional heat/light/fan combos. We couldn't afford to pay full price - luckily, we got them 50% off! Good times!
Odette from Beacon Lighting (also half price!) for the Walk in Wardrobe. I will have to write a separate post about this one - it's mighty exciting!!
I hope you're having a lovely Tuesday.

Liebster Blog Award
Well, how special do I feel today? Mellissa from Down Ruby Lane has nominated me for a Liebster award, my first ever blogging award.
Liebster is a German word meaning 'dearest' and the award is given to bloggers with less than 200 followers. (My Year 10 German teacher would be so proud!)
The award has a few stipulations:
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you. Check.
2. Reveal your five blogger picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog. Check (see below)
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog. Check.
4. Hope that the people you have sent the award to forward it on to their favourite bloggers. Check.
So, my top five at the moment, are (drum roll please...):
The Journey Begins - Kylie has recently finished building her gorgeous house, and is now sharing the decorating and 'back to real life' journey with us.
B is building a house - B and her trusty sidekick, Mr B, have owner built their amazing house, and are now working through the finishing touches as they 'camp' in their masterpiece.
Cute as Buttons - Mrs Button creates wonderful attire for your little people, and is just a downright lovely lady!
The House - Just before she took off on a gorgeous Italian holiday, Jodie and her family moved into their new home. It is amazing 'how it all came together!'
Design by Penny, Paid by Jason - Penny is building on the beautiful GC. Check out the amazing views from her house-to-be!
Does anyone have big plans for the weekend? We are lucky enough to be working on little girl's bedroom makeover today. I can't wait to see the look on her little face when we handover her new room. Working on a Saturday has never been such fun!
I hope the nasty weather doesn't get in the way of your day! (I don't even want to THINK about what Chermside is like today!)

The waiting game
Just checking in today to say that we're still waiting on council approval. Everything is with the Certifier, and should be back before Christmas.
Hopefully all this rain will get out of the way so that we can get started on site in early January and have a clear run.
Is it just me, or does this kind of rain make other people nervous, after the events of the last twelve months?

LESS OF THIS!

Thankful Thursday
Just a quick one from me today...
Today, I am thankful for a little bit of rain. We have a whole lot of, very small, potted plants preparing themselves to be nice and full-sized for the new house, but they have been lacking water and will be very happy now. But, after the non-stop rain we experienced late last year and early this, we prefer for it to only last a couple of days at a time these days.
And, secondly, I am thankful that our building contract is 'in the mail'. This is what we call progress, people, progress!
Oh, and finally, I am thankful that my lovely bloggy friend 'B', has moved into her gorgeous house!
What are you thankful for today?
