Family Room - Work in progress

Hi all!

Well, it's been slow going 'round these here parts.  Not for any real reason, just enjoying living in the house and busy with regular life commitments.

I am yet to purchase anything new for our Family Room, but have done a little shopping around the house to put the area (slightly!) together.

So, I give you the Family Room...

I am considering purchasing these prints from Etsy, and framing them in Ikea Ribba frames (as per pic below) to hang on the wall above the sofa.

The lamp is also on loan from the Lounge Room - it isn't even plugged in!! - until I decide on the artwork.  I'm then considering a lamp like this.

Another purchase still to make is a rug for this area.  I like these Egeby rugs from Ikea, but would have to decide on colour, obviously!

And, maybe a coffee table, but convincing Husband of this will be mission in itself!

Drum Coffee Table at Freedom

So, we're getting there, slowly but surely!

I hope you're having a great week.

  2. Looking good M, but I think you def need a rug or coffee table. Ask hubby where he is going to put his beer down? Maybe that might help persuade him lol.

  5. Looking so great M! I too love your floors, so much so that I'm considering changing mine - I'm so torn! Those prints are very cute, you've got my mind wondering again, a few trips to craft stores and hardware shops will be in order over the weekend.

    1. Thanks, Em! Just remember, noone's allowed to shop at Carpet Call anymore, so you may not be able to source this flooring!!!!! If you get all arty, be sure to share some pics! It's about time for an update on your house, no? Mx

    2. Lol I forgot about your flooring debacle. I spoke to Andrew last night anyway and we both agreed that we have liked our first choice the whole time so we will stick with it. Yes it is time for an update but unfortunately winter days means darkness at 5.30pm which is the earliest I can get to the house after work! So no photos means no update, will head out tomorrow though so watch our blog haha! Have a good weekend, looks like beautiful weather compared to last weekend!

    3. As a general rule, we find that our first decision is usually the best decision, and your vinyl looks great so you should certainly stick with it. I'll be checking in hourly for an update on your house! We'll have to take a drive soon to check out that facade. Enjoy your weekend, Mx

  7. Love the prints, adore the lamp (I have that planned for my next living room too), I would get the darker rug. And there must be someway to convince DH to buy that fantastic coffee table??? (wink)

    1. Thanks, JA. Given the sofa colour, I think the dark rug is the best option, too. Less Hamptonsy, but the best choice. I guess we could always suggest to Husband that he won't see the coffee table very often anyway????? Mx

  8. Looking great M and I love the blue and orange accents in the prints. The bright orange and white print would look fantastic in a floor rug I think...

Can't wait to see your selections all come together!

    2. Hey M, yes the little man is doing well. He's so much like my first son Oliver that I swear I've had twins, just 2 years apart! From looks to the funny little noises he makes when he feeds - it's uncanny! It's also nice not to feel so overwhelmed this time. Although juggling the need for attention between a newborn and a 2 year old is challenging at times to say the least!

Whats the colour of the walls?
